Trading Micro Structure: 3 Things I Look For

Trading nuances fascinate me. If you spend enough time watching a specific product you eventually learn to spot atypical phenomena. In this video I discuss 3 common things I look for when day trading. I refer to these anomalies as poor "micro structure" because the setups are often very small and easy to miss if you aren't looking for them. These phenomena rarely have an impact on results of the entire day's auction but they can help scalpers capture a few easy points or stay in a trade when they'd normally get shaken out.

Considering the vast majority of trades are placed by computer algorithms, the intent of this video is to help you understand a few different circumstances where HFT (high frequency trading) algorithms are likely to engage in the market in order to "fix" structural anomalies. The opinions presented here are my own, based on my personal experiences & years of observation; they are not authoritative and there's no guarantees in trading but I hope learning to spot these unique intraday occurrences will help you in your own trading journey.

Final Note: These are scalping setups, intended to capture a small handful of ES points during slow or normal trading days. Never "bet the farm" on a micro structure setup...ever. Enjoy!
