The major news for today is Powell’s testimony in front of Congress starting at 10am. This is the semi-annual report on Monetary Policy and today’s hearing is in front of U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. Everyone’s hoping to understand the direction Powell takes on rates in light of the resurgence of inflation.
