S&P sector performance

I've got some great resources from our friends at Barchart.com to share with you all! Their multi-timeframe S&P sector performance tracker is really awesome.

One-year

Over the last year energy has been an incredible outperformer, with defensive stocks following behind.

Year-to-date

Year-to-date we have just energy and utilities performing. Every other sector lagging. Discretionaries, communication services, and IT were obliterated.

1-month

Over the last month energy, utilities, materials, and communication services outperformed while discretionaries were destroyed.

1-week

Over the last week consumer discretionaries recovered, with energy, IT, and financials following behind. Communication services and health care lagged, but still logged gains.

1-day

Finally, on Friday we saw discretionaries, IT, real estate, and communications lead. Consumer staples and utilities lagged.
